Card Game

Cribbage

Cribbage is one of the oldest and most enduring card games. Tonight we learn not only how to play the game, but also some of its rich history with the help of Jordan Wiklund, author of the blog Cribbageland. He’s writing a book titled Cribbageland: The People, Craft & Culture of a Curious Game. To learn more about Cribbage, go to Cribbageland.com. You can follow Jordan on Twitter (@JordanWiklund) and like Cribbageland on Facebook.

Also, blue_hitchiker leaves us a voicemail to clarify some confusion we had last week. Sorta.

Other things we discuss include a follow-up on Curtis’s broken Fitbit, the reason Brian is bad at math, Draw Something overload, Brian’s accidental stache, and we end up singing a lot of Winger. Our apologies.

Big thanks to NDLando for the new iTunes review. If you leave us an iTunes review, we’ll send you a puppy, or mention you on the show.

Zombie Fluxx

Tonight we play a listener favorite, Zombie Fluxx, and we find out who has more braaaaaaiiiiinnnssss. Aside from the obvious Walking Dead jokes we make, we also talk about Brian’s recent appearance on the Pod Cubs podcast and a recent interview on GMS Magazine podcast about gay gamers.

Spit

Spit

Say it, don’t spray it! Tonight, we attempt to play the classic card game, Spit. It turns out there are a ton of variations to playing this game, so if you have any tips for us, let us know! We also discuss Thanksgiving, Black Friday & Pie Party.

Congratulations to our Codigo Cube contest winners Tim & Jon!

Scary Tales

Scott from The Saytrsphere sent us a couple games to try out and tonight we give one a try. Join us as we make another attempt at playing a deck building game. This one is called Scary Tales. Our conversation tends to wander around quite a bit after that.

Check out Bizzy! It’s a really cool app and the people who work there are awesome.

Add us to your Google+ circle! Mike is gplus.to/mikelawson and Brian is gplus.to/cheapblueguitar.

Thank you Scott for your voicemail and sending us this game. We really appreciate it. Find his podcast at satyrsphere.blogspot.com.

In A Pickle

The game In A Pickle surprisingly has nothing to do with pickles but everything to do with the word “in.” Listen as we play this creative thinking game with outrageous scenarios.

Also this week, we talk about Mike’s attempts to be more positive, more movies we’ve recently seen and of course, pickles. Seriously, if you haven’t tried Wickles Pickles you are missing out!

Nerts

It’s the episode you — the listener — picked. And the winner is… Nerts! Nerts is a combination of the card games Speed and Solitaire.

Things we kibitz about include recent movies we’ve seen, the 12 of 12 photo project, games played on phones or Facebook and some 80s trivia; including one that brings the game to a screeching halt.

Also, Brian shares his feelings about Tyler Perry.
